  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese Or use provolone/swiss
  • 4 slices Deli turkey Or any protein of your choice
  • 1 Tomato Sliced thin
  • 1 Avocado Sliced
  • 1/2 cup Lettuce Romaine or arugula
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise Or aioli for extra flavor
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil or butter For toasting the bread
  • to taste Salt & pepper Optional

Method
 

  1. Slice the artisan bread into even pieces. Spread mayonnaise on the inner sides of each slice.
  2. Layer cheese, turkey, tomato, avocado, and lettuce on four of the slices. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Top each sandwich with another slice of bread, mayo side down.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add a bit of olive oil or butter.
  5. Toast each sandwich for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Slice in half and serve warm!
